FAQ
TLDM has two tiers: Free (full features with ads) and a $79 lifetime plan (no ads, BYOK). No subscription — pay once, own it forever.
Yes. TLDM is built privacy-first. Audio is always recorded and stored locally on your device. With the Lifetime plan (BYOK), transcription happens via your own API key — we never see your data. The free tier uses server-side processing, but we never store your audio or transcripts on our servers after processing. A lightweight account is required for sync and license management.
Unlike Otter.ai, TLDM is local-first — audio stays on your device, and with BYOK your data never touches our servers. Otter tracks location and contacts; TLDM collects only what's needed for your account. And it costs $79 once instead of $200/year. See our full comparison.
TLDM records audio offline and saves it locally on your device. However, transcription and summarization require an internet connection since they use OpenAI's Whisper and GPT-4o-mini APIs. You can record anytime and transcribe later when you're back online.
TLDM is available on iOS and Android. It works for any type of meeting — in-person, phone calls, and virtual meetings.
